Jonas Lundqvist embarks on a Swedish tour this fall with new music!

The new single "Änglarna" is out now, and Jonas Lundqvist's upcoming album "Sorgetornets spejare" will be released on September 6. The album includes P3 favorites "Järtecken" and "En liten pojke," but also reflects an intention to make himself visible during a period marked by loss.

– "Both as a person and as an artist, I've often acted on impulse. Which can be fun as long as things go your way, but it’s less helpful when you face grief or other setbacks," says Jonas.

Even more than its predecessors, the new album is compact, a tightly clenched fist of resolution and focus. It features the singles "Järtecken" (which Jonas performed on Bergfeldt) and "En liten pojke." There’s the Madchester-esque "Förvirrad varg," the almost Gun Club-dramatic "Liljekonvalj," and the opening track "Änglarna," which opens the door to new soundscapes. The album includes other tracks that both reinforce and contradict the image we have of Jonas Lundqvist. Regardless, both he and his music always strive forward, forward.

– "I’m increasingly noticing that very few people from my generation still consider music to be something important," he says. "There were a few years in youth when you were part of something. So, if you’re going to continue with it at all, you need to justify it by creating things that are true and damn good."
