Today, it’s hard to imagine Father John Misty, or Josh Tillman as his real name is, as the drummer in Fleet Foxes. Not because there’s anything wrong with being a drummer in Fleet Foxes, but mostly because it feels unnatural for such an obvious performer to be anywhere other than in the spotlight. Few artists have more to say about the present day than Father John Misty, and even fewer do it with the same perceptive precision. The complicated puzzle consisting of Father John Misty’s music, his mythology, and his persona has always been confusing. But in this blessed mix of sincerity, satire, narcissism, and self-criticism, we find one of the most compelling and engaging artists of our time.
Now it's time for the next chapter in the saga of Father John Misty. On November 22, he will release his new album *Mahashmashana*. *Mahashmashana*, a name derived from Sanskrit meaning “great cremation ground,” contains eight magical tracks that clock in at 50 minutes. In conjunction with the announcement of the upcoming album, the seven-minute epic single "Screamland," featuring Alan Sparhawk from Low on guitar, will also be released.
On April 4, our very own Father Misty will make a long-awaited return to the capital, performing at Fållan in Stockholm.
This concert is organized by Luger.
